Where AgentPeek is better

It answers far more agents. AgentPeek's permissions page lists nineteen whose prompts can be answered in the notch, some through its own Direct Chat sessions. CrewTower answers six: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Qwen Code and opencode.

You can try it first. Three days, with no account and no payment method, and the trial never turns into a charge. CrewTower has an interactive website demo and no trial of the Mac app.

It reports what you spend. By-day bars, a split of token kinds, each model's share, daily and monthly charts and an activity calendar, with budget alerts. CrewTower keeps no token or cost history.

It is a whole workspace. Local dev servers it finds on ports 3000 to 9999, Quick Routes, Fast Actions, Views, to-dos that tear off into widgets, and an Agent Board that sorts sessions into columns. CrewTower has none of it and is not heading there.

It talks back to more agents. Direct Chat sends follow-up prompts to twenty-two agents. CrewTower's Tell Claude does that for Claude Code only, in beta.

More exact jump targets elsewhere. Its host matrix lists forty-five rows, with exact panes in tmux, WezTerm, Kitty, Warp, Zellij, cmux and the VS Code family's terminals.

macOS 14, and seats for more Macs. It runs on Sonoma, which CrewTower does not, and sells two- and three-Mac licenses at $24.99 and $34.99.

Where CrewTower is different

It lands on the tab, in the terminals most people use. In Terminal and iTerm2 CrewTower selects the tab by the session's terminal device and checks it landed; in Ghostty it finds the tab through Accessibility; in herdr and tmux it selects the pane through the multiplexer itself. AgentPeek's own host matrix lists Terminal, iTerm and Ghostty as “App; optional matching window” and herdr as “Terminal window”. How Jump finds the tab is written up terminal by terminal.

It runs on Intel Macs. CrewTower is a universal build. AgentPeek states Apple silicon only.

It costs less. $9.99 against $14.99, both one-time, and every later CrewTower update is included.

It does less, on purpose. Everything in the app serves the pause: the agent needs you, the card comes forward, you allow or deny from there, and the agent's hook gets the answer over the local socket it is waiting on, so nothing is typed for you and the terminal never has to come forward. You still get the usage window and context left, because being about to be cut off changes what you do next. What you do not get, and do not pay for, is a dashboard.

Which one to pick

AgentPeek if you want the wide surface: cost charts, dev servers and routes in one place, prompts answered for agents beyond CrewTower's six, follow-up prompts to most of them, and you are on Apple silicon.

CrewTower if the hours go to finding the right tab, you work in Terminal, iTerm2, Ghostty, tmux or herdr, you are on an Intel Mac, or you would rather pay $9.99 for the narrow tool than $14.99 for the wide one.

Questions

Does it also work if I have several Claude sessions running at once?

Yes. Every running Claude Code session gets its own card, in terminals and in the Claude app, and the ones waiting on you sort to the front. One card can also hold several requests at once, from the session and its subagents, each answered on its own.

On the card I only see “working”. Can I see what it is doing right now, like the last tool call or a progress line?

Yes. Press Activity on the card: it opens the last stretch of that session's transcript inside the card, what the agent said and what it ran, in order, newest at the bottom. For the agents CrewTower follows live, the line under the title also names the current step, and running subagents are listed beneath it.

Can I edit a message after I have queued it?

No. A message you send with Tell Claude while Claude is still working is queued and runs when that turn ends, and once queued it cannot be edited or withdrawn. Tell Claude is a beta for Claude Code only, off until you turn it on.

Is it on Windows or Linux?

No. CrewTower is a Mac app and needs macOS 15 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel.
